22/12/22 - I will follow Hen Ogledd anywhere they go. As a matter of fact, I will follow half of Hen Ogledd anywhere they go. These are beautiful, dark, brooding songs. They sound awesome heard with undivided attention, and are also turning out to be great accompaniment to a reread of Ursula Le Guin's Malafrena. Grain Sparrow

23/03/04 - Coming to this from the debut, I loved the foregrounding of melodic elements in the first half—the lead-guitaresque synth lines in the opener, the flourish that sneaks in at the end of Draught of Courage—and I still do, but eleven listens in, it's the title tracks that casts the deeper spell.
